Riverdale Stables

 

The Riverdale Stables is the premier riding facility in the 5 boroughs of NY- offering lessons year round at all levels.  The facility boasts a large indoor area, along with four lighted outdoor rings including a grass hunt course. With training in Hunt Seat Equitation and Jumping as well as Dressage of all levels Riverdale has something for all riders.  Both a riding academy and boarding facility, Riverdale is located 15 minutes North of Manhattan set on 20+ acres inside Van Cortlandt Park in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.  We are easily accessible by the 1 Train, BX9 bus or just off the Henry Hudson Parkway

Starting at age 6 riders learn the basics in one-on-one instruction until they can walk, trot and steer independently.   Riders who have mastered the basics can remain in privates or join our afterschool program or one of our many groups.

The pony ring with the shade of the locust tree is where afterschool and are novice riders learn the skils on the flat and in basic jumping.  (Click for Photos)

 

The large jumping arena is lighted for night riding as well as the more advanced jumping classes.  (Click for Photos)

 

The Dressage arena is a regulation size riding space set aside for our Dressage riders of all levels ranging from novice junior riders and adults to Olympic level training.  (Click for Photos)

 

Unique to Riverdale is our grass outdoor course.   Nowhere else in the city of New York can riders learn to ride and jump on the Grass!  (Photo coming soon)

 

Individual lessons, group classes in both Dressage and jumping there is something for everyone to explore their interest and develop a passion for the world of horses – this is why Riverdale Stables is “Where New York City Learns To Ride!”®
